Speaking at a conclave organized by Synergia in Bengaluru, Nasheed discussed how the current geopolitical tensions have adversely affected Maldives' economy, particularly its tourism sector. He revealed that tourist arrivals have decreased by 30 percent, warning that this decline may jeopardize the country's financial stability as it struggles with high debt and rising fuel prices.

Nasheed further noted that the global power dynamics are shifting towards a multipolar world where countries will align based on security, energy, and climate interests. He emphasized the need for maintaining peace in regions like the Indian Ocean through strategic diplomacy and collaboration rather than conflict.
