Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of Opposition in West Bengal, criticized the state government for allegedly disrespecting President Droupadi Murmu, during his inaugural meeting with Governor R N Ravi.

Adhikari applauded the President's office for declining a meeting with TMC MPs, who intended to inform her about state welfare projects. This refusal followed a political controversy sparked by the absence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the President's airport arrival.

Adhikari also raised concerns over illegal immigration of Bangladeshi Muslims, asserting the potential minority status of Hindus by 2041 if current policies persist. He supported a successful strike by state employees demanding back pay, promising pay commission benefits under BJP leadership.
