CPI(ML) Liberation Gears Up for West Bengal Elections Amid Voter Disenfranchisement Concerns

CPI(ML) Liberation's Dipankar Bhattacharya announced the party's plans to contest 10 seats in the West Bengal elections, forming alliances to oppose the BJP. He raised concerns about 60 lakh 'under adjudication' voters whose eligibility remains unconfirmed by the Election Commission, urging immediate action to safeguard voting rights.

In a strategic move, CPI(ML) Liberation's general secretary, Dipankar Bhattacharya, unveiled the party's intent to contest 10 seats in the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections, solidifying alliances within the Left Front. This alliance aims to provide a political alternative in the TMC-run state while countering BJP's ambitions.

Bhattacharya voiced concerns over voter disenfranchisement, highlighting that over 60 lakh voters in West Bengal remain 'under adjudication'. He accused the Election Commission of failing to resolve these cases in time for the elections, set for April 23 and 29, with vote counting on May 4.

Aside from West Bengal, CPI(ML)L plans to independently contest 15 seats in Tamil Nadu and specific constituencies in Kerala. Bhattacharya underscored the party's commitment to ensuring all eligible voters, particularly those pending adjudication, can exercise their rights in the upcoming election cycle.
