Bharat Rashtra Samithi's (BRS) working president, KT Rama Rao (KTR), expressed strong opposition to what he describes as a 'massive financial scam' associated with the Musi River rejuvenation project. During the assembly, KTR announced a walkout, registering discontent over the government's conduct and lack of transparency.
KTR, backed by BRS legislators, questioned the government's actions regarding the project's escalating costs and alleged irregularities. They called for clarity on issues such as Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation, extensive land acquisitions, project phase breakdowns, and discrepancies in official statements versus assembly records.
Among the concerns raised, KTR highlighted plans to demolish over 10,000 houses and acquire 3,260 acres of land. He accused the administration of failing to provide coherent project details, stressing that communications with the Asian Development Bank reveal no approved financing, countering government claims. BRS demands government accountability and transparency.
