Pradyut Bordoloi Shifts Allegiance from Congress to BJP Amid Allegations
In a strategic political move, MP Pradyut Bordoloi has transitioned from the Congress party to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), voicing concerns over internal mistreatment. This development unfolds as Assam gears up for its legislative assembly elections, setting the stage for an intense electoral battle between the incumbent BJP and Congress.

In a significant political shift, Member of Parliament Pradyut Bordoloi has parted ways with the Congress party and embraced the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This move was made official in a ceremonial event attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP President Dilip Saikia.
Bordoloi cited feelings of being sidelined and internal mistreatment within the Congress as core reasons for his departure. He emphasized that his resignation was due to multiple issues within the party, rather than a single incident related to ticket allocation for the state elections.
This transition comes just weeks before Assam's legislative assembly elections, where the BJP seeks a third term in power against a resurgent Congress. Bordoloi's switch follows a similar move by former Assam Congress chief Bhupen Kumar Borah, who joined the BJP last month.
