AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP IS Inbadurai has lodged a formal complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer in Chennai, raising concerns about potential violations of the Model Code of Conduct linked to a stockpile of mobile phones at the Salem District Collectorate.
Inbadurai claims that approximately 2,604 mobile phones, allegedly intended for distribution to anganwadi workers and others, were discovered during a visit by AIADMK legal representatives. The phones were reportedly locked away, sparking suspicions about the ruling DMK's involvement in unauthorized distributions ahead of the upcoming elections.
He criticized what he perceives as selective enforcement of electoral laws while alleging DMK's strategic legal filings against former AIADMK ministers. Inbadurai cited alleged voter accommodations in Karur and corruption findings against DMK members, calling for the Election Commission to address these issues promptly.
