Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, labeling him India's 'most corrupt CM.' Speaking at an election rally, Gandhi accused Sarma, alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, of operating a 'land ATM' that unjustly transfers public land to large corporate entities.
Gandhi also vowed to deliver justice for the late singer Zubeen Garg, who he said represented Assam's multicultural ethos. He reiterated that justice would be served within 100 days of Congress coming into power in the state. The Congress leader emphasized the party's commitment to local governance, promising the implementation of Article 244(A) of the Constitution.
Additionally, Gandhi criticized the India-US trade deal under Modi's leadership, arguing it disadvantages India by reducing taxes on American goods. He controversially claimed former US President Donald Trump has leverage over Modi, referencing legal cases filed in the US against industrialist Gautam Adani.
