Veteran Congress leader V Narayanasamy has levelled grave allegations against the Chief Minister N Rangasamy-led Cabinet. He claims the government is embroiled in a counterfeit drugs scandal spanning eight states and accuses officials of accepting bribes for Resto bar licences and enhancing the number of drinking establishments exponentially over five years.

Highlighting the proliferation of corruption within various governmental departments, Narayanasamy points to an alleged 30 percent commission in the Public Works Department and irregularities within the Smart City project and property registration processes. Despite these claims, Chief Minister Rangasamy insists the ongoing CBI investigation disproves these 'baseless' accusations.

Narayanasamy defends his tenure from 2016 to 2021, citing improved law and order, educational growth, and pandemic management. He disputes the success of Modi's 'BEST Puducherry' vision, noting declines in business and educational metrics, while criticizing the surfeit of bars as diminishing local spirituality.
