BJP's Noapara candidate, Arjun Singh, recently divulged in his election affidavit that he faces 119 pending criminal cases. This represents a dramatic rise from the 24 cases he declared in 2019. His 93-page affidavit, submitted with his nomination for the West Bengal assembly elections, details his income, assets, and liabilities.
Singh's annual income has seen fluctuations over the past five years, with an income of Rs 13.41 lakh in 2020-21, dropping the next year and then rising to Rs 18.87 lakh in 2023-24, before dipping again. Notably, Singh holds cash, fixed deposits, and considerable investments, including properties valued at around Rs 4 crore.
Having initially won the Bhatpara assembly seat for four terms on a TMC ticket, Singh joined the BJP in 2019 and secured the Barrackpore Lok Sabha seat. He returned to TMC but later rejoined BJP for the 2024 elections, with his current candidacy at Noapara.
