The Election Commission launched an inquiry after a video emerged on social media depicting men on bikes allegedly intimidating residents in Diamond Harbour ahead of West Bengal's second election phase, a senior official reported.

Following the revelation, a formal complaint was filed at Diamond Harbour police station. Officials confirmed that a case is now under investigation.

The Election Commission aims to curb these threats immediately, especially as campaigning closes Monday evening for the April 29 polls. This incident follows the suspension of five local officers for misconduct connected to election neutrality.
