In a diplomatic stride towards resolving the West Asian conflict, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi hailed his recent trip to Pakistan as 'very productive.' Arriving in Russia, Araghchi emphasized fruitful discussions with Pakistan's leadership amid uncertainty over upcoming peace talks.

Araghchi's visit followed a second trip to Islamabad, where he consulted with Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. He remarked on the necessary collaboration with Pakistani counterparts to evaluate conditions for continuing U.S.-Iran negotiations. Despite prior rounds showing potential, talks have stumbled due to American demands and approaches, according to Araghchi.

The Iranian minister was greeted in St. Petersburg by Russian officials for discussions with Kremlin authorities, aiming to align efforts within the ongoing negotiations. Previous talks, held in April between Iran and the U.S., had not achieved a resolution, leading Araghchi to bolster diplomatic ties elsewhere, including meetings in Oman prior to his Russian engagement.
