Exit polls conducted on Thursday suggest significant electoral wins for the BJP in West Bengal and Assam, with the DMK set to reclaim power in Tamil Nadu. In Kerala, a close contest is predicted between the Congress-led UDF and the ruling LDF, although forecasts show a slight edge for the opposition.
Results from the Today's Chanakya poll indicate a strong performance for BJP in West Bengal, where Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee disputes the projections, calling them a tactic by the BJP to dishearten her party, TMC. The same poll forecasts BJP success in Assam with a notable seat margin over its rivals.
Critics, however, point out the inconsistent track record of exit polls and their limited methodological transparency. Axis My India withheld its West Bengal poll results, citing insufficient data. Final vote counts for five assemblies—West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and Assam—will occur on May 4.
