The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) staged widespread protests in Punjab on Thursday, spotlighting the ongoing power outages plaguing residents in both rural and urban settings.
Senior party member Daljit Singh Cheema highlighted that the demonstrations drew significant local participation, reflecting public frustration with the current state of power supply under Aam Aadmi Party governance.
SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal openly criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for failing to secure short-term power solutions and accused the government of prioritizing publicity over practical solutions. He pledged that, if in power, SAD would return Punjab to its former power surplus status.
