In the wake of the West Bengal assembly elections, security forces have tightened their presence around crucial vote-counting centers. According to reports from Kolkata on Friday, strict vigilance is particularly noticeable in locations housing EVM machines used during the election.

Notably, tensions flared at Sakhawat Memorial School in south Kolkata's Bhabanipur until the early hours of Friday. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who spent nearly four hours at the site, since accused electoral malpractice, asserting the importance of a transparent vote-counting process.

Addressing reporters, Banerjee emphasized her commitment to protecting votes, warning sternly against any tampering attempts, just days before the May 4 vote count from the two-phase elections concluded in the state.
