Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has accused the BJP and the Election Commission of enacting in West Bengal what they had trialed in Uttar Pradesh. This allegation came during a press conference in Lucknow on Buddha Purnima.
Yadav commented on Mamata Banerjee’s vigil outside a Kolkata strongroom, emphasizing a lack of trust and referencing past incidents of vote obstruction in Uttar Pradesh. He highlighted actions he believes mirror earlier events in Uttar Pradesh, suggesting a systematic operation by central forces in Bengal.
Ahead of counting for the recent assembly polls, Election Commission's new QR code-based ID system, set for implementation across several states and later expanded nationwide, faced skepticism from Yadav, who linked the technological initiative to BJP influence.
