An office linked to actor Vijay's political venture, TVK, was reportedly set ablaze by unidentified individuals in Kamanayakkanpalayam village near Srirangam early Friday morning, as confirmed by the police.
The blaze caused minimal damage, affecting primarily the thatched roof serving as an entrance canopy to the establishment used for election campaigning in the Srirangam constituency. This arson incident unfolds amidst the heightened atmosphere of the April 23 assembly elections, with vote counting slated for May 4.
Social media is abuzz with CCTV footage purportedly showing two men escaping on a motorbike; however, authorities have yet to verify this evidence. Acting on TVK's complaint, the Pettaivaithalai Police have filed a report and are actively searching for those responsible.
