In a controversial move, the Punjab Police have filed two non-bailable FIRs against Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak, who recently left the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), sources revealed on Saturday.
This has sparked a war of words between the parties, with the BJP accusing AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal of weaponizing the police for political vendetta. “This is a fragile facade,” BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi criticized, highlighting alleged deteriorating law and order in Punjab.
The incident follows substantial defections from AAP, with seven of its Rajya Sabha MPs, including Pathak, switching to the BJP. These developments have reduced AAP's influence in the Upper House, stirring further political tumult.
