Akhilesh Yadav, chief of the Samajwadi Party, has accused the BJP of conducting 'strategic deployments' of polling officials during Uttar Pradesh bypolls, a practice he alleges was repeated in the West Bengal Assembly elections. He claims this was done with the tacit collusion of the Election Commission.

In a media address, Yadav reiterated the importance of the Election Commission's neutrality, stressing its role as a constitutional body. Insisting there was a 'trial run' in Uttar Pradesh, he believes the same tactics were applied in Bengal, involving strategically deployed election officers and paramilitary forces.

Despite these allegations, Yadav remains confident that the people will decide the elections, predicting a victory for Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress. The state gears up for a highly anticipated vote count, which will determine if the TMC retains power or if the BJP manages a historic win.
