The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has emerged as a strong contender in the Kerala Assembly elections, with outstanding performance attributed to the teamwork of the United Democratic Front (UDF). IUML is leading in 23 out of the 27 seats it contested, signifying a momentous outcome for the alliance.

IUML state president Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal has indicated that the UDF is likely to secure around 100 seats. Thangal credits this achievement to the collective effort of the UDF, emphasizing that forthcoming strategies will be addressed through internal discussions within the coalition.

Senior IUML leader P K Kunhalikutty, who competed in the Malappuram constituency, reiterated confidence in the UDF's approach. Kunhalikutty, lauding the electoral triumph as historic, stressed that the IUML's growth trajectory continues. He highlighted the victory of Congress leader V S Joy in Thavanur, a site of significant demographic interest, as a testament to secular ideals.
