Bridging Nations: Vikram Doraiswami's New Chapter in China

Vikram Doraiswami, India's new ambassador to China, began his tenure with tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore in Beijing. Amid expectations of enhancing Indo-China diplomatic relations, Doraiswami's assignment follows tensions in eastern Ladakh. Fluent in Mandarin, he has prior experience in Hong Kong and Beijing missions.

India's newly appointed envoy to China, Vikram Doraiswami, officially began his duties in Beijing with a gesture of respect, laying floral tributes at the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore on Monday.

Doraiswami arrived in Beijing to succeed outgoing ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat, receiving a warm welcome from both Chinese and Indian officials.

His posting comes at a critical time as India and China aim to mend strained ties following a protracted military standoff in eastern Ladakh.
