Atul Bora, Assam's Agriculture Minister and AGP president, has retained the Bokakhat assembly constituency for a third consecutive term. Defeating rival Hari Prasad Saikia by 60,537 votes, Bora has consistently served in various ministerial roles across different governments, showcasing a prominent political journey in Assam's landscape.

Atul Bora, serving as both the Assam Agriculture Minister and president of the AGP, has successfully defended his seat in the Bokakhat assembly constituency. According to the Election Commission, he defeated Raijor Dal's candidate Hari Prasad Saikia by a margin of 60,537 votes.

Bora secured 80,987 votes, while Saikia garnered 20,450 votes. His political career highlights include serving as a minister in BJP-led governments under both Sarbananda Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma. In the current administration, he holds responsibilities for Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Processing, and Animal Husbandry.

Initially, Bora represented the Golaghat constituency from 1996 to 2016, before shifting to Bokakhat, where he continues to maintain a strong political presence. His tenure as a minister also includes experience in the AGP government led by Prafulla Kumar Mahanta from 1996 to 2001.
