The victory reaffirms the DMK's dominant position in the historic assembly seat, once represented by former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Udhayanidhi's grandfather.
Upon the official announcement, jubilant supporters gathered to celebrate, considering Stalin’s win a validation of his extensive grassroots campaigning. The assembly elections were conducted on April 23.
