K Palaniswami's Landslide Victory in Edappadi
AIADMK chief K Palaniswami claimed a resounding win from the Edappadi assembly constituency, defeating his closest rival, Premkumar K, by 98,110 votes. With 1,48,933 votes, this marks his sixth major victory in the area since 1989. The former chief minister continues his legacy in Salem district politics.

K Palaniswami, a leading figure in Tamil Nadu politics and current AIADMK chief, celebrated a major political triumph on Monday. His victory, by a margin of 98,110 votes, came from Edappadi assembly constituency, affirming his status in the region.
This remarkable win follows a legacy of electoral success, marking his sixth consecutive victory in the constituency since 1989. Palaniswami's closest competitor, independent candidate Premkumar K, garnered 44,011 votes, falling significantly short.
Alongside Palaniswami, 22 other AIADMK candidates were declared winners by the Election Commission of India. As counting progresses, the party leads in 26 additional constituencies, underscoring its strength in the latest Assembly elections held on April 23.
