Upset in Thoothukkudi: Geetha Jeevan Defeated by Srinath

In a surprising turn of events, Tamil Nadu Minister for Social Welfare and Women Empowerment, Geetha Jeevan, lost the Thoothukkudi assembly seat to TVK candidate Srinath by 37,731 votes. Geetha Jeevan had previously held the seat in both 2016 and 2021 elections.

In a significant political upset, Tamil Nadu Minister for Social Welfare and Women Empowerment, P Geetha Jeevan, was defeated by TVK candidate Srinath in the Thoothukkudi assembly constituency election, concluded on April 23. The political tussle ended with Geetha securing 62,805 votes, while her rival, Srinath, gathered a substantial 1,00,536 votes.
