In a significant political development, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Tuesday. The meeting was called to discuss the ramifications of six Rajya Sabha MPs from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab defecting to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a week ago.
Members of the AAP, including several MLAs, gathered at Rail Bhawan near Rashtrapati Bhawan in solidarity. Their primary objective was to seek a resolution and justice from the President concerning the political turmoil sparked by the defections.
Chief Minister Mann emphasized the ongoing struggle for Punjab's rights, marking this meeting as a step to present the state's concerns. In a post on platform X, Mann stated their intention to highlight 'Punjab's burning issues' and voice their standpoint before the President.
