Vijai Sardesai, president of the Goa Forward Party, has voiced a rising sentiment of anti-incumbency against Goa's current BJP government, urging a united opposition for the 2027 assembly elections.

In the 2022 Goa assembly elections, Sardesai’s party secured only one of the four seats it contested in alliance with Congress, which won 11 seats.
