The political scene in Tamil Nadu is abuzz with speculation after Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) signaled a possible post-election alliance with Congress. State Congress in-charge Girish Chodankar confirmed receiving a letter from TVK and announced that an official update will be shared at an upcoming joint press conference.
Chodankar noted that the press briefing, to be held at Satyamurthy Bhawan, will feature the PCC President, CLP leaders, and newly elected MLAs. He emphasized that all details will be discussed in-depth, as TVK's presence in the 234-member assembly positions them close to significant decision-making power.
Fueling the shifting power dynamics, TVK's Chief Vijay has sought a meeting with Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Arlekar as government formation talks progress. Meanwhile, tensions have flared within the Secular Progressive Alliance, with DMK representatives harshly criticizing Congress for perceived disloyalty.
The fallout from these political maneuvers was amplified by DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai, who labeled Congress's move as shortsighted and destabilizing, potentially impacting future electoral ambitions nationally.
Compounding the situation, Governor Arlekar has accepted outgoing Chief Minister MK Stalin's resignation. As various parties maneuver for influence, TVK's unexpected rise continues to disrupt traditional political alignments, setting the stage for transformative changes in Tamil Nadu's governance. (ANI)
