Miraculous Rescue: Cargo Ship Crew Safe After Andros Sinking
A cargo ship, Corsage C, sank near the island of Andros, Greece. All nine crew members, including Turkish and Azerbaijani nationals, were rescued by the Greek coast guard. The ship, carrying soda, was en route to Ukraine from Albania. No pollution was reported, and preventive measures are underway.
The Greek coast guard rescued all nine crew members of a cargo ship that sank off the island of Andros on Wednesday. The crew, which included eight Turks and one Azerbaijani, were aboard the Corsage C, a Vanuatu-flagged vessel transporting soda from Albania to Ukraine when it hit rocks.
Officials reported no immediate signs of pollution from the wreck. However, as a precautionary measure, two anti-pollution coast guard vessels and additional equipment have been deployed to create a sea barrier. The cause of the accident remains unclear.
The rescued crew members, two from the sea and seven from the rocky shoreline, were safely transferred to a local clinic in good health. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
