In the wake of the BJP's resounding victory in recent assembly elections, Bangladesh has taken a strong position on border security. Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed expressed optimism that the contentious issue of 'pushbacks' would not resurface.
Salahuddin Ahmed assured that the Border Guard Bangladesh has been placed on elevated alert across the frontier. His statements followed remarks from Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman, who warned of potential action by Bangladesh if 'push-in' incidents were to occur.
The BJP has won emphatically in West Bengal and Assam, raising concerns amid allegations of an influx of Bangladeshi immigrants. However, West Bengal's government has dismissed these claims. As border tensions persist, the discourse on migration policy continues to heat up between the two nations.
