TVK leader Vijay, on Wednesday, sought to form the government in Tamil Nadu by meeting with Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. Despite winning 108 seats, TVK fell short of the 118 required for an outright majority.

Vijay was accompanied by prominent party figures during the meeting at the Lok Bhavan, which followed a recent expression of support from the Congress party. Discussions with other potential allies, including VCK and Left parties, have yet to yield positive results.

According to party insiders, Vijay is expected to assume the role of Chief Minister on May 7. Meanwhile, other election results included DMK with 59 seats, AIADMK with 47, and Congress with five.
