President Donald Trump has introduced a robust counterterrorism strategy designed to address threats hemispherically and weaken cartel operations, Sebastian Gorka, a senior White House adviser, announced on Wednesday. The document, signed by Trump, underscores the need to safeguard the American homeland.

This strategy has involved the destruction of boats in a counternarcotics campaign associated with a broader operation signaling the ousting of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro. Gorka highlighted the plan's main focus: neutralizing terror threats by debilitating cartel activities to prevent drug and human trafficking into the U.S.

Domestically, the strategy will tackle violent secular political groups, particularly those with anti-American or anarchist ideologies, such as Antifa. Gorka revealed that measures would include using all constitutionally available tools to identify and disrupt these groups, and their connections to international networks, to thwart potential violence.

U.S. counterterrorism officials will engage with international counterparts to enhance collective efforts against terrorist threats, targeting the challenges in Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.
