The Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata is set to transform into a fortress as 4,000 police personnel are deployed for the swearing-in of West Bengal's first BJP government this Friday, a senior official disclosed. The event is anticipated to draw major political figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Ahead of the historic ceremony, the expansive 900-acre ground has been segmented into approximately 30 sectors to enhance crowd control and fortify security. Each segment will be overseen by a police officer with a high rank, and central armed forces may join the security effort if deemed necessary.

Kolkata Police from Lalbazar convened a high-level meeting to finalize the security details. Measures include installing door-frame metal detectors and handheld scanners at all access points, deploying CCTV cameras for comprehensive surveillance, and imposing traffic diversions to mitigate congestion.
