In a critical move, the DMK leadership, spearheaded by M K Stalin, is convening a meeting with its newly elected MLAs-designate at Anna Arivalayam, the party's headquarters, this Thursday evening. The meeting marks a pivotal point as the political landscape shifts in Tamil Nadu.
Notably, the Congress, once a staunch ally of the DMK, has aligned itself with the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) post-election. Additionally, the VCK and left-wing parties are deliberating their potential support towards the TVK-led government.
Garnering only 59 seats in the April polls, the DMK is expected to appoint Udhayanidhi Stalin, the party youth wing secretary, as the new legislative party leader, focusing on strengthening their stance as a formidable opposition in the state assembly.
