Jose K Mani, chairman of Kerala Congress (M), has firmly dismissed speculation of a crisis within the party following its defeat in the assembly elections. Speaking to reporters after an LDF allies meeting, Mani ruled out any merger with the Kerala Congress (J) faction, despite suggestions from their counterparts.
The Left Democratic Front (LDF), of which Kerala Congress (M) is a part, secured only 35 seats overall, with Mani's party failing to win any of the 12 contested seats. Mani indicated that each party within the alliance would convene separately to analyze the loss, with further discussions slated for after June 15.
Mani emphasized the importance of votes from neutral constituents and denied that the election loss indicated diminishing relevance for the party. He reaffirmed confidence in a future comeback, drawing on past experiences of overcoming adversity when the party was previously divided.
