''Following his (Suvedu Adhikari) swearing-in, a new era of good governance, security, and development has begun in West Bengal,'' a statement here said, quoting Yadav. The MP chief minister expressed his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Adhikari on being sworn in as the CM of West Bengal, it said. ''Under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Suvendu Adhikari, West Bengal will set new records in development, investment, good governance, and public welfare,'' Yadav said. On the eve of the swearing-in ceremony, Yadav had said that Bengal had always played a crucial role in the country's development, but the ''policies of the Congress, Communists, and Trinamool Congress had caused the state to lag behind''. ''Now, Bengal will leave behind old politics and move forward on the path of development,'' he said on Saturday. After the swearing-in of the new government, PM Modi wrote on social media, ''May 9, 2026, will be recorded in history as a very important and proud occasion. This date will always be remembered because it marked a decisive turn of destiny and ushered in a new chapter of hope, respect, and good governance. ''The Bharatiya Janata Party government was sworn in at the prestigious Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. Many people, including me, had the privilege of witnessing this historic occasion.''
