Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent appeal to save foreign exchange by advising citizens to delay gold purchases, labeling the appeal as an attempt to gloss over the government's foreign policy failures. During an informal media interaction, Reddy suggested that Modi's comments effectively imposed an unofficial ban.

Calling for more decisive action from the Centre, Reddy urged the government to convene an all-party meeting focused on handling the repercussions of the ongoing West Asia conflict. He emphasized the necessity for the government to build consensus across party lines and consult with foreign policy experts.

Reddy also addressed the Prime Minister's 'join me' remark made during an official event in Hyderabad, clarifying that it stemmed from his appeal for faster approvals for state development projects. Additionally, he countered Modi's criticism of the Congress, likening the BJP to the 'British Janata Party,' accusing it of divisive politics.
