Raman Bhalla, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Working President, has called for the immediate restoration of statehood and democratic institutions in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing reporters, Bhalla criticized the prevalent bureaucratic governance, claiming it has distanced the administration from its people.
Bhalla pointed out the rising unemployment, inflation, and poor civic infrastructure as evidence of the government's failings. Highlighting the struggles faced by educated youth, middle-class families, and daily wage workers, he argued for the creation of more employment opportunities and condemned the administration's 'anti-people and anti-trade policies.'
Moreover, Bhalla warned about the deteriorating tourism sector and public infrastructure projects, while Mulla Ram emphasized the plight of farmers affected by recent hailstorms. He advocated for strengthening Panchayati Raj institutions to enhance grassroots democratic participation ahead of the upcoming local elections.
