Congress MLA-elect from Alappuzha, A D Thomas, on Tuesday announced firm plans to pursue a thorough examination into allegations of assault, including against himself, by gunmen linked to then-Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. This follows the dynamics of the 2023 Nava Kerala Sadas outreach program.
Thomas declared that once the United Democratic Front (UDF) government assumes control, an intensive complaint expounding these claims would be lodged. This comes amidst his assertion that the initial police findings negated the occurrence of the assault, prompting further court-directed investigations.
Visuals disseminated worldwide reportedly depict Congress and Kerala Students Union (KSU) activists, including Thomas, encountering aggressive actions by Vijayan’s security team during protests at the 2023 event. With UDF's electoral succession, Thomas is determined to ensure accountability through judicial oversight and transparency.
