Lindsey Graham Questions Pakistan's Mediation Role Amid US-Iran Tensions

Senator Lindsey Graham on Tuesday raised doubts about Pakistan's neutrality as a mediator in the ongoing US-Iran peace negotiations. His concerns stemmed from reports alleging Pakistan allowed Iranian military aircraft to station at their airbases.

Speaking at a Senate Appropriations subcommittee hearing on the Iran conflict and defense budget, the South Carolina Senator underscored his lack of trust in Pakistan's role. He suggested seeking alternative mediators to advance the stalled talks.

Defence officials, including Secretary Pete Hegseth and Gen. Dan Caine, refrained from commenting directly on the issue, referencing active negotiations. Pakistan's Foreign Office clarified that the Iranian aircraft presence had no military link, coinciding with a ceasefire.
