AIADMK in Turmoil: Leadership Shake-Up Amidst Rebel Support for TVK

Amidst deepening internal conflicts, AIADMK's general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami ousted rebel leaders, including key MLAs, from their posts after they supported the TVK government in a confidence motion. The move has stirred a crucial juncture within the party, with calls for unity against erstwhile rival, DMK.

In a significant political maneuver, AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami has removed several prominent rebel leaders from their party positions. This decisive action follows the MLAs' controversial support for the TVK government in the recent Assembly confidence motion.

The disciplined crackdown targeted 26 senior leaders, including notable figures such as SP Velumani and C Ve Shanmugam, leading to a notable shift in the party's leadership landscape. Shanmugam, however, contends that the dismissals are invalid, citing a lack of proper procedure.

Amid the upheaval, V K Sasikala urged the AIADMK to remain united against the DMK, emphasizing the need to uphold the party's founding principles for the welfare of the underprivileged.
