Tragic Recovery: U.S. Soldiers' Remains Found in Morocco

The remains of two U.S. Army soldiers, who went missing during exercises in Morocco, have been recovered. Spc. Mariyah Symone Collington, 19, and 1st Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr. fell off a cliff during a hike. The incident occurred during the African Lion military exercises. Investigations are ongoing.

The remains of the second U.S. Army soldier missing from military exercises in Morocco were found, the U.S. military announced on Wednesday. Spc. Mariyah Symone Collington, 19, of Taveres, Florida, was identified as the soldier who tragically fell off a cliff during a recreational hike.

Collington served as an air and missile defense crewmember with Charlie Battery, 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defence Artillery Regiment, part of the 10th Army Air and Missile Defence Command. Previously, the remains of 1st Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr., another soldier who perished in the same incident, were recovered.

The unfortunate event took place on May 2 during African Lion, an annual multinational military exercise in Morocco. Details surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.
