Donning a lawyer's gown, Banerjee, backed by senior party members, addressed alleged violence against TMC workers after the 2026 assembly election results.

The proceedings stem from a public interest litigation filed by advocate Shirshanya Bandyopadhyay. This filing highlighted the plight of TMC workers reportedly forced from their homes due to their political affiliations, following post-poll attacks on party offices.

Appearing before a division bench led by Chief Justice Sujoy Paul, Banerjee's presence underlined her commitment to combating injustice. The TMC hailed her resolve, portraying her as a beacon of truth and resilience against political aggression.
