CPI's K Narayana Slams Fuel Price Hikes, Calls for Policy Overhaul

On Friday, Communist Party of India (CPI) leader K Narayana voiced strong opposition to the escalating fuel prices, attributing the increase to hefty taxation and 'dynamic pricing' strategies in the transport sector, which he said are unfairly burdening the populace.

Narayana connected the surge in global crude oil prices to international conflicts and policies driven by powers like Donald Trump. He highlighted that when global tensions rise, crude prices surge, ultimately impacting ordinary citizens.

He accused both Central and State governments of compounding the issue with additional taxes and surcharges, escalating transportation costs and affecting essential commodities. Narayana denounced the 'dynamic pricing' system in transport as exploitative, particularly harming middle-class and poorer citizens, urging immediate policy reforms.
