Kerala's political landscape witnessed a shift as the United Democratic Front (UDF) prepares to take over the reins following a decisive election victory. Keralam Congress President Sunny Joseph announced that discussions concerning ministerial roles in the new administration will be undertaken collectively with coalition partners, seeking a harmonious decision after consultations.
Meanwhile, the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) accorded a warm reception to Chief Minister-designate VD Satheesan. The meeting, marked by garlands and ceremonial gifts, occurred just days after the UDF's significant triumph in the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections, heralding Satheesan's leadership in breaking the Left Democratic Front's (LDF) decade-long power hold.
Satheesan, set to be sworn in as Chief Minister on May 18, has been a pivotal figure for the Congress-led coalition, spearheading the opposition's efforts since 2021. The UDF's victory, securing 102 out of 140 assembly seats, marks a pivotal change in Kerala, ending the LDF's long-standing governance.
