V D Satheesan, the Chief Minister-designate of Kerala, announced his ministerial team on Sunday as the state prepares for a new government. The list of ministers, compiled after discussions with coalition partners, highlights a focus on social and regional representation.
Satheesan has chosen senior politicians Ramesh Chennithala, K Muraleedharan, and Sunny Joseph for ministerial roles. Moreover, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan is set to become Speaker of the Assembly, while Shanimol Usman will take the role of Deputy Speaker.
Despite Congress's significant victory of securing 63 seats, many deserving leaders were not included in the Cabinet due to necessary considerations of social balance and regional representation. The allocation of portfolios is nearly complete, awaiting minor adjustments before official submission and gazette notification.
