In Kerala, following the inauguration of Chief Minister V D Satheesan and his cabinet, a tea gathering was organized by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Lok Bhavan. The ceremonial event, held after the ministers were sworn in at Central Stadium, set the stage for the new state's administration.
Minister P K Kunhalikutty was the first to arrive at the Lok Bhavan following the Governor. He was soon joined by Chief Minister Satheesan and other vital figures, including leaders from Congress and the Indian Union Muslim League. The gathering provided a platform for interaction and set a collaborative tone for the new leadership.
As the ceremonial activities concluded, the ministers were scheduled to move to the State Secretariat for the first Cabinet meeting. The United Democratic Front assumed power after a decisive win, capturing 102 out of 140 seats in the state's assembly election.
