Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Oslo, marking the first Indian PM visit in 43 years. Modi will engage in trade, technology talks with Norwegian PM Jonas Gahr Store, attend the India-Nordic Summit, and aim to strengthen India-Norway bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a landmark arrival in Oslo, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Norway in over four decades. Modi, currently on a four-nation European tour, arrived from Sweden, greeted warmly by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store and other top officials.
This historic visit aims to invigorate India-Norway relations, particularly in trade and technology sectors. Over the two-day period, Modi will meet with King Harald V and Queen Sonja, engage in bilateral talks, and focus on advancing cooperation between the two nations.
A key highlight of the visit is Modi's participation in the India-Nordic Summit on Tuesday, attended by the prime ministers from Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Sweden. His address at the India-Norway Business and Research Summit is expected to further galvanize bilateral trade, which was valued at USD 2.73 billion in 2024.
