Vietnam ​does not have ​a policy of creating ‌excess capacity, ​Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung told Deputy U.S. Trade Representative ‌Rick Switzer at a meeting on Wednesday in Hanoi, the Vietnamese government said.

Vietnam will continue to closely ‌coordinate with the U.S. to finalise negotiations for a ‌bilateral trade pact, the government said in a statement following the meeting. * Vietnam has been in talks with the U.S., ⁠its ​largest export market, ⁠on a trade agreement since President Donald Trump announced planned tariffs ⁠on Vietnamese goods more than a year ago.
