Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district on Wednesday morning to attend a training programme of the organisation, a Sangh functionary said.

He is scheduled to interact with RSS volunteers and address intellectual sessions during the 'Karyakarta Vikas Varg Pratham', which began on May 19.

Bhagwat reached the venue at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Pandavnagar area by road from Katni, the functionary said.

As many as 383 volunteers from Madhya Pradesh, Malwa, Madhya Bharat, Mahakaushal and Chhattisgarh regions are participating in the training camp, according to the organisers.

Bhagwat is likely to stay in Shahdol till May 22, they said.

Heavy security arrangements have been made for the RSS chief's visit, and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel have been deployed around the venue.

Only authorised pass holders are being allowed entry to the programme venue, officials said.

Shahdol Collector Kedar Singh has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, banning the operation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and drones in the Pandavnagar area from May 20 to May 22, they added.
