Delhiites facing repeated power cuts in this heat: Former CM Arvind Kejriwal

Delhiites are suffering due to repeated power cuts while the current BJP government is sleeping, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday.Kejriwal hit out at the BJP government, saying during the Aam Aadmi Partys tenure, people had forgotten power cuts.Amid the severe 45 degrees Celsius heat, power cuts are taking place across Delhi.

Delhiites are suffering due to repeated power cuts while the current BJP government is 'sleeping', former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday.

Kejriwal hit out at the BJP government, saying during the Aam Aadmi Party's tenure, people had forgotten power cuts.

''Amid the severe 45 degrees Celsius heat, power cuts are taking place across Delhi. Delhiites are suffering. Electricity is going off at any moment. Social media is flooded with complaints, but the BJP government is sleeping,'' Kejriwal said in a post on X.

He said in the AAP time, inverters had stopped selling.

He said the BJP has pushed Delhi back by 15 years the moment it came to power.

Refuting Kejriwal's statement, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said the claim of power cuts in Delhi are ''100 per cent false''.

''The purpose of this post is only to mislead the people of Delhi and Punjab. Today, in the afternoon, Delhi's electricity demands reached approximately 8,039 megawatts, which was successfully met by the power discoms,'' Sachdeva said.

He said in the last two days, no scheduled power cuts were implemented anywhere in Delhi.

He said any minor local faults were resolved very quickly.
